Here’s our guide to Heavenly Resort
Skiing and the Mountains
- With 4,800 acres, Heavenly is one of North America's largest mountains. At over 10,000 feet, it is also Tahoe's highest. Their 3,500-foot vertical is unmatched on the West Coast and the resort has a formidable average annual snowfall of 900cm
- Heavenly has one of the largest snowmaking systems in North America at the ready, covering 70% of the mountain
- The resort has 16 groomers so the slopes are groomed twice daily - dawn and noon - so you don't have to be the first one on the slopes to achieve maximum corduroy enjoyment
- Some of Heavenly's easiest terrain is located on the upper mountain, allowing novice and intermediate skiers and riders to enjoy the scenery off the upper mountain. Look for the signs with the green circles. The easiest runs include Patsy's, Groove, Mombo Meadows, Maggie's, Poma Trail and the Swing Trail in California and in Nevada, off the Boulder Chair, Edgewood Bowl
- Heavenly has opened up the trees, which hide some of the best skiing in North America. No longer the best-kept local secret, all Heavenly's guests will have access to the sweet powder stashes found in Northbowl Woods, Powderbowl Woods, Skiways Glades, Scorpion Woods and Dipper Woods. New trail signage is posted to alert skiers to one of the best skiing experiences around
- Free riders will flip for the "sick" terrain features found in Heavenly's High Roller terrain parks and the largest super pipe in the Tahoe Basin carved by a monster 22-foot Zaugg pipe cutter, one of only two in North America. Heavenly will also debut its new high roller night life terrain park where riders can "go big" all night long. The resort now boasts five terrain parks with varying degrees of difficulty so every level of park rider can get their "jib" on!!
- In an effort to deliver the highest levels of guest service, Heavenly has added five new electronic signs that will report changing weather, openings and closures, current conditions, and grooming schedules. There are now nine real-time information centres stationed on the hill to enhance guest experiences and connectivity.

Resort and après ski
- A must visit for all ages is Heavenly’s Adventure Peak located 2.4 miles up the mountainside complete with snow tubing, sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and a 25-foot rock climbing wall
- For fantastic unspoilt views visit The Deck - a 14,000 square foot mid-station observation platform. Located at 9,123 feet, guests can dine al fresco at Café Blue while treated to views of the Carson Valley, Desolation Wilderness and shore-to-shore views of Lake Tahoe
- Not far from Heavenly's Nevada side, you'll find the rustic ambiance of David Walley's Hot Springs, nestled one and a half miles south of the historic town of Genoa. David Walley's Hot Springs feature six mineral pools ranging in temperatures from 98 to 104 degrees. There's even a fresh water relaxation pool heated to 85 degrees for your enjoyment. Prepare to be pampered!
- The Forest Service will once again offer its popular Ski With a Ranger Programme free to resort guests. The programme is a 11/2 hour tour of the California side of the resort that helps guests orientate themselves and learn a little about the natural and man-made history of Heavenly and the National Forest
- To quench your thirst for local history visit the Genoa Bar, the oldest "thirst parlour" in all of Nevada... serving drinks since 1853. The bar has been popular with celebrities since its earliest days, with visitors ranging from Mark Twain, Johnny Cash and Teddy Roosevelt to modern-day icons such as John Wayne and Willy Nelson
- Imagine an outdoor picnic at 9,000 feet with a setting and a feast fit for royalty! At a prearranged time and trail location, a Heavenly representative will rendezvous with your party and guide you off-trail to a secluded picnic area with an outrageous view of lake and peaks and plenty of sunshine. Music, fresh flowers, wine, silverware, china, sumptuous food and a decadent five-layer chocolate torte dessert are served on a table carved out of the snow and covered with a linen tablecloth. Chairs and blankets are provided for your comfort. Your personal waiter will assure an extraordinary dining experience.
