Golf holidays in Italy

Italy

Far more than just a safe bet for delicious food and quality wines, Italy is also an excellent choice for fantastic golf in Europe. Stay in an exquisite converted palace near Lake Garda and play a round in rolling lakeside scenery before an evening at the open-air opera. Or, enjoy a game in a grand hunting estate decorated with terracotta and frescoes in the Tuscan countryside close to the art of Florence and the history of Pisa. Italy’s rich culture and golf opportunities also extend beyond the shores of the mainland. Over in Sicily, where quality golf courses are increasing in numbers, you’ll find glamorous golf resorts such as Verdura which is fantastic for all the family. For the best weather and undiscovered gems of island courses, Sicily is creating waves in the industry. Alternatively you can experience the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean in Sardinia.

There are few places left in Europe where you can play golf in such tranquility and beauty. There isn't a villa or urbanisation in sight, instead your round is interrupted only by the views of the Mediterranean, mountainous backdrop and colourful blooming flora. The course is also very impressive having hosted European Tour events in the past, however following a huge investment programme it is even better. Alongside the cosy Is Molas Hotel, and with 27 holes, this is a great stay and play experience, and a pleasant alternative to the crowded fairways of other Mediterranean destinations.

Is Molas provides a haven of peace and tranquility on the wonderful Is Molas golf course is southern Sardinia. This is 'stay and play' golf at its best with the clubhouse and hotel merging in to one, to drastically minimise the time from the breakfast room to the 1st tee.

The 84 guestrooms at Is Molas are located in the main hotel that adjoins the clubhouse, and are all decorated in typical Mediterranean style with warm colours and terracotta tiling. All rooms benefit from airconditioning, safe, minibar, satellite TV, ensuite bathroom and have a balcony or terrace.

Golf is the obvious activity to start with, the resort boasting various courses including a 27-hole course, a yellow course which it claims is the hardest, as well as an 18-hole championship course with greens and bunkers American in size and style which also stages Italian open competitions. As well as golf, there’s also horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, water sports and cycling on offer, and a beach nearby for swimming and sunbathing. The town of Pula isn’t far away, boasting shops, nightclubs and a private beach.

There are effectively two restaurants at Is Molas. Le Ginestre is the main hotel restaurant that offers a buffet breakfast and an a la carte menu in the evenings and offers indoor and terrace dining. There is a hotel bar and also another restaurant in the clubhouse that is open during the day.
