Badrutt's Palace

Badrutt's Palace 5 Star

from £396 per room night

Location

The impressive Badrutt’s Palace opened in 1896 is a historic 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of the upmarket resort of St Moritz in Switzerland. If you want less of the cute Alpine village feel, and more glitz alongside fantastic skiing, elegant apres-ski parties and luxury shopping, this is the perfect destination. To get here, it’s a 3.5-hour scenic train ride from Zurich, but it’s quicker to drive.

Rooms

Even the standard rooms at the Badrutt’s Palace offer a high class of furnishings and finishings, as well as amenities and facilities. Rooms offer a classically styled decor with neutral walls, floral drapes, twin or king beds with thick duvets, fluffy pillows and a separate seating area. They also have a fabulous view of St Moritz village and Corviglia, as well as state-of-the-art technology such as large flat-screen TVs and DVD players carefully housed in a made-to-measure home entertainment unit. There are also several suites to choose from, all extremely spacious and exquisitely appointed with private balconies, a separate lounge area and impressive bathrooms.

Activities

After a busy day on the slopes, head to the Palace Spa which offers a sauna, steam baths, a Finnish sauna as well as several relaxation rooms as well as treatment rooms where you can indulge in a massage, among other pampering treatments on offer. Fitness fans might want to practice their backhand on one of the hotel’s two tennis courts. There’s also football, volleyball and basketball on offer. But let’s not forget the area’s fantastic skiing, boasting 350km of pistes, which include nursery, free ride and carving slopes, as well as a glacier downhill run.

Dining

Chesa Veglia is home to three restaurants and two bars, all with with a rustic and cosy ambience, serving international specialities and an extensive selection of drinks, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors. The cosy Polo Bar in the farmhouse’s former smoke room is a nice place for an aperitif and after-dinner cocktail, or you might want to marvel at the fairytale paintings by Carigiet that decorate the walls of Bar Carigiet. Hungry skiers should make their way to either the Pizzeria Heuboden for Italian classics, the Patrizier Stuben for Swiss and international specialities or the Grill Chadafö for an elegant dinner.
