If you fancy a short safari holiday in some of Africa's most beautiful wildlife areas then this five day trip is just perfect. Your adventure begins in Maun, in the northern part of Botswana, and from there you fly to the Chobe National Park before ending the trip at the spectacular Okavango Delta, which is rich in animal and bird life. This action packed tour is great if you have never been on safari before or even if you are a seasoned wildlife watcher.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Maun to Savute

On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by our tour representative and taken by light aircraft to your camp in the Savute region of the Chobe National Park, an area renowned for its high concentration of elephant and dramatic eco system. In the heart of the park, sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world, is the Savute, an area where little has changed on these dry plains since time began. During your stay at Eagle Island you are fortunate to be in one of the last corners of the planet governed by nature.

Accommodation: Standard Belmond Khwai River Lodge

Day 2: Savute

Perched on the former banks of the now dry Savute Channel, Savute Elephant Camp offers a spectacular base to explore the area. With a birds' eye view of the adjacent water hole, just yards from the camp's main building, the impressions created at Savute will last forever. The Savute is also a dramatic area to see high concentrations of lions and prides up to 40 strong are not uncommon as are sightings of all the other major predators - the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena.

Accommodation: Standard Belmond Khwai River Lodge

Day 3: Savute to Okvango Delta

After an early morning game drive you fly to Eagle Island Camp, hidden from the world deep within Botswana's Okavango Delta. Situated on the island of Xaxaba the camp overlooks a lagoon and the area offers high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. It is also the site of one of the most romantic bars in the world, the Fish Eagle Bar, which offers a cool retreat from the African sun and is shaded by a canopy of indigenous trees. Enjoy canoe trips and wildlife walks during your stay.

Accommodation: Standard Khwai River Lodge, Luxury Tent

Day 4: Okavango Delta

Today you will have further opportunity to explore the surrounding areas either on foot, by dug out canoe (mokoro), or by motorboat. The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland water systems, the only inland delta of its kind and a unique oasis of life in the centre of the Kalahari Desert. It supports a staggering variety of animal, plant, fish and birdlife. The delta consists of a multitude of main channels, smaller tributaries and lagoons as well as floodplains, islands and mainland areas.

Accommodation: Standard Khwai River Lodge, Luxury Tent

Day 5: End of tour

This morning you have your final game viewing activity in the Okavango Delta before you are picked up and driven to the airstrip for your short flight back to Maun where the tour comes to an end. On this short but exciting trip to two of Botswana's best wildlife viewing areas you can expect to see all of the Big Five - lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant, and you will take home wonderful memories of one of the most spectacular regions on Earth.
