If time is short this action packed three day safari, in Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, makes a perfect add on to any holiday in Africa. The Serengeti is a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder. It is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as zebra and Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa with great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates in the Serengeti making it a fascinating place to see wildlife.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti

Begin in the morning with a flight from Arusha to your airstrip in Serengeti National Park. On arrival, you are met and taken by road to your camp, where you can relax and settle in. After lunch, you are taken on a game viewing drive before returning to camp for a memorable dinner under the stars. You can take one of a number of flights into the Serengeti from Arusha on this first day and your activities will depend on your arrival time.

Accommodation: Standard Serengeti Explorer Camp

Day 2: Serengeti

Today you are taken on early morning and evening safaris with a great chance of seeing all the animals before and after the heat of the midday sun. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers, solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a large number of cheetah prowl the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species are found here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

Accommodation: Standard Serengeti Explorer Camp

Day 3: Serengeti to Arusha

Another chance to see many of the animals today as you travel from the camp by road to the local airstrip to catch your flight back to Arusha, where you will be met at the airport and taken into town. Your short but action packed safari trip ends here and from Arusha you can continue your African holiday or prepare for your flight home.
