While spending a holiday in Kenya it is important to take at least one safari - an experience that will live with you forever. And this short trip from Mombasa out to the Tsavo East National Park and Taita Hills Sanctuary is a great way to get a taste for wildlife viewing. You have every chance of seeing some or all of the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant - as you go on a series of game drives. This two day safari makes a great add on to any African adventure.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East

Your driver/guide will pick you up early from your hotel for the drive north up to the vast plains of Tsavo with the rolling Taita Hills on the horizon. Enter Ngutuni Sanctuary for a game drive then have lunch at Ngutuni Lodge overlooking a waterhole. Then carry on to the Taita Hills Sanctuary arriving at the Salt Lick Lodge, built on stilts and overlooking a waterhole where animals come to drink. Relax at the lodge then take an afternoon safari followed by an exciting night time game drive.

Day 2: Tsavo East to Mombasa

Take an early morning game drive returning to the lodge for breakfast. On a clear day you can see the spectacular sight of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Then you are taken on another game drive before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later you are picked up and driven back to Mombasa arriving in the evening. Mombasa is Kenya's main tourist destination and has wonderful beaches along the Indian Ocean. It boasts a tropical climate all year and has activities for all the family.
