You might be out in the wilderness, but you'll be able to enjoy plenty of creature comforts along the way, staying in elegant camps with swimming pools and spectacular views.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei

Your adventure gets off to a flying start with a scenic flight over the desert to your lodge for the next two nights, Kulala Desert Lodge, located within the Namib Desert on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. You'll have the rest of the day at leisure to relax in your thatched and canvas "kulala" (which has its own en-suite bathroom and veranda) and perhaps take a dip in the communal plunge pool.

Accommodation: Standard Kulala Desert Lodge

Day 2: Sossusvlei

You'll spend the whole of today exploring the desert and wildlife of the Sossusvlei dunes. Today's activities will include an early-morning guided drive to the dunes, as well as nature drives and walks in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve.

Accommodation: Standard Kulala Desert Lodge

Day 3: Sossusvlei to Desert Rhino Camp

This morning you'll take another scenic flight over the desert to Desert Rhino Camp, set in a wide valley amid the rocky hills of the Palmwag Concession. This beautiful area boasts the largest free-roaming black rhino population in Africa. Your accommodation here will be in a Meru-style canvas tent with sweeping views of the dramatic Etendeka Mountains from your veranda. You'll have the rest of the day free to relax here and perhaps take a refreshing swim in the pool before dinner around the fire pit.

Accommodation: Standard Desert Rhino Camp

Day 4: Desert Rhino Camp

This morning you'll set out for a game drive, accompanied by Save the Rhino trackers, who keep records of rhino sightings. This is a wonderful opportunity to take in the spectacular landscape, and in addition to the rhino you may be lucky enough to spot elephant, giraffe, antelope and zebra. Game drives showcase the magnitude of the landscape and offer the best possibilities of seeing desert-adapted wildlife including rhino, elephant, giraffe, antelope, zebra and maybe even the area’s predators.

Accommodation: Standard Desert Rhino Camp

Day 5: Desert Rhino Camp

Today you have another full day to enjoy game drives and nature walks, and to relax in the camp.

Accommodation: Standard Desert Rhino Camp

Day 6: Desert Rhino Camp to Windhoek

Your adventure comes to an end today with your scenic flight back to Windhoek, ready for your onward journey.
