When visiting Southeast Asia two cities you don't want to miss are Saigon in Vietnam and Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, and on this short three day tour you see both. Starting in Saigon, you travel out to the Mekong Delta and meet the families who live there. Visit farms and floating markets and dine on local dishes before heading to the Cambodian border for a night's stay at Chau Doc, with its floating houses. Then it's on to see all the amazing sights in Phnom Penh.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon to Can Tho

Today you leave Saigon and travel south into the Mekong Delta - Vietnam's agricultural heart. The energy and warmth of the people who live here is clearly visible. On arrival in Cai Be you board a boat for a trip on the Mekong River and narrow waterways. Stop for a walk through an orchard and visit Cai Cuong ancient house before enjoying some local produce for lunch. Continue by road to Can Tho and check into your hotel before taking a walk around the town and riverfront with your guide.

Accommodation: Standard TTC Hotel Premium Can Tho, Deluxe City View Room

Day 2: Can Tho to Chau Doc

After an early breakfast join your guide and board a boat to visit the fascinating floating market at Cai Rang. See farmers trading their produce on the water as they have done for centuries. Return to your hotel and after checking out continue onto Chau Doc, close to the Cambodian border. After arriving at your hotel, take a short boat ride among nearby floating houses and see the amazing fish farms suspended underneath. In the late afternoon climb Sam Mountain to watch a spectacular sunset over neighbouring Cambodia.

Accommodation: Standard Chau Pho Hotel, Deluxe Room

Day 3: Chau Doc to Phnom Penh

Another early start for a visit to the bustling riverside market of Chau Doc. Return to your hotel and after checking out, board your boat and cross the border from Vietnam into Cambodia. The river journey to Phnom Penh takes around four hours. During the Vietnam War, this stretch of water was one of the most dangerous on the Mekong. On arrival in Phnom Penh, a driver will meet you for your transfer to your hotel in the city. Then spend as many days as you like exploring this historic capital before continuing your holiday or flying home.
