On arrival you will be met at Perth airport and driven to your hotel in this vibrant city, the Crown Towers, for a two night stay. Flush with mining money, Perth frequently scores top billing on lists of the world's most liveable cities. The capital of Western Australia defies its remote location by boldly flaunting its riches, both natural and material. Sprawling King's Park is a focal point of downtown and work hard, play hard is the mantra here as locals take advantage of the Swan River and the string of pearly white beaches.

A full day to relish the delights of Broome. Like a paste jewel set in a tiara of natural surroundings, Broome clings to a narrow strip of land on the Kimberley's far western ridge, at the base of the pristine Dampier Peninsula. Surrounded by the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean and the creeks, mangroves and mudflats of Roebuck Bay, this Yawuru country is a good 2,000 miles from the nearest capital city and each evening the whole town collectively pauses, drinks in hand, while the sun sinks slowly towards Madagascar.

Day 5: Broome and Cable Beach

After a morning at leisure take an afternoon tour: Visit Chinatown and hear fascinating stories of this colourful precinct. Call into a pearl shop, followed by a visit to Sun Pictures, the world's oldest operating open air picture gardens. Drive through Old Broome with its Pearling Masters homes, stop at Roebuck Bay and Matso's Brewery to sample their famous ginger beer. Also visit the Japanese Cemetery and Gantheaume Point which is known for dinosaur footprints. End the tour at Cable Beach to watch the sunset.
