Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Perth

Your tour begins this afternoon as you meet your tour director and travelling companions, and set off on a city tour of Perth. There'll be a chance to relax in Kings Park, where you can enjoy the views of the Swan River and stroll around the Anzac Memorial and wildflower gardens. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a welcome dinner – an ideal way to get to know your travelling companions.

Day 2: Perth – Kalgoorlie

This morning you'll travel east, passing through Corrigin to Hyden, reaching Wave Rock in time for lunch. This spectacular rock formation, resembling a gigantic wave, was formed from granite over three million years ago. You'll have plenty of time here to admire it, as well as to view the world's largest collection of toy soldiers at the visitors' centre. You'll then continue through the former ghost town of Coolgardie and fields of wildflowers to Kalgoorlie.

Day 3: Kalgoorlie – Esperance

This morning you’ll join a local guide on a tour of the Super Pit gold mine, the largest open-pit gold mine in Australia, producing up to 850,000 ounces of gold every year. Afterwards, you'll stroll through the historic gold-mining town. There'll be time to admire the impressive salt lake, Lake Lefroy, before you continue through Norseman and on to Esperance for a two-night stay at this picturesque seaside town.

Day 4: Esperance

Today you'll visit Cape Le Grand National Park to experience the spectacular views of the wild coastal scenery, rugged granite peaks and sweeping heaths. You'll stop at Thistle Cove and Lucky Bay, among Australia's most beautiful bays, where you may spot grey kangaroos – they enjoy lazing on the sand just as much as we do! This afternoon you're at leisure to explore Esperance.

Day 5: Esperance to Albany

You'll experience a truly unforgettable sight this morning: Esperance's Pink Lake which, as the name implies, often turns shocking pink due to high concentrations of beta carotene and pink halobacteria. You'll travel through Ravensthorpe and the Fitzgerald Biosphere to Bluff Knoll Lookout, from where you can gaze out over the lush beauty of the Stirling Ranges National Park. You'll then continue to Albany.

Day 6: Albany - Margaret River

This morning you'll visit Torndirrup National Park to admire the Natural Bridge and Gap granite formations and the stunning rugged coastline. Next, you'll head to the historic Whaling Station, where a local guide will give you an insight into the region's seafaring past. You'll continue to the Valley of the Giants, home to huge tingle and karri trees, where you'll explore the canopy with a stroll along the tree-top walkway. Today's final destination will be Margaret River, one of Australia's premier wine-growing regions.

Day 7: Margaret River

This morning you'll enjoy a scenic drive through the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, with its karri forest and peppermint trees. You'll explore Jewel Cave, home to the fossil remains of extinct animals, with a local guide, before visiting Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, situated at the south-westerly tip of Australia, where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. You'll visit the award-winning Laurance Wines for a tour, tasting and lunch, then the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, before time to explore Margaret River.

Day 8: Margaret River – Fremantle

This morning you'll travel north through Busselton, a holiday resort on the shores of Geographe Bay, to Fremantle, where you'll learn about the local heritage and culture on a guided walking tour. You're at leisure for the rest of the afternoon and may like to visit the Western Australia Maritime Museum, take a guided tour of Fremantle Prison or take a sightseeing tour by tram.

Day 9: Fremantle to Perth

You're at leisure this morning and may like to visit the colourful Fremantle Markets to purchase arts and crafts and taste some local delicacies, or to take a stroll along the Fremantle foreshore and enjoy fish and chips with views of Freo’s fishing fleet. Later, you'll enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Swan River as you return to Perth.

Day 10: Perth to Kalbarri

This morning you'll head to New Norcia, a small settlement built around a Benedictine Monastery, where you'll visit the museum and art gallery. Later, you'll continue to Kalbarri, a coastal fishing town, where the Murchison River meets the Indian Ocean.

Day 11: Kalbarri to Monkey Mia

This morning you'll visit Kalbarri National Park, where you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of Murchison River Gorge and watch the peregrine falcons hunting along the cliffs. Later you'll visit the fascinating Shell Beach, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells, before continuing on to Monkey Mia, where you'll stay for two nights to enjoy the blue waters and pristine sandy beaches.

Day 12: Monkey Mia

It's worth rising early this morning in the hope of catching a glimpse of the wild dolphins which often swim into the shallows. You're at leisure today, and may like to relax on the beach, take a sailing trip to spot aquatic mammals, or take a scenic flight over the coastline.

Day 13: Monkey Mia to Geraldton

This morning you'll travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of stromatolites, the ancient structures which have helped scientists unravel the history of life on earth. Next you'll continue south along the North West Coastal Highway to Geraldton, in the heart of the Batavia Coast, where you'll stop at the HMAS Sydney Memorial and enjoy some free time to explore the township.

Day 14: Geraldton to Perth

Today you'll travel into Nambung National Park, home of the other-worldly Pinnacles, formed from limestone thousands of years ago. After time to stroll around and take some photos, you'll head south to Yanchep National Park, where you'll meet your Aboriginal guide who'll tell you more about their way of life, and even play some didgeridoo music. Afterwards, you'll continue on to Perth, where you'll enjoy a farewell dinner with your tour director and travel companions.

Day 15: Depart Perth

Your holiday comes to an end after breakfast today. You'll be transferred to Perth Airport for your onward flight or may choose to stay on for a few days to explore the city.
