Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Reykjavik

Your Fire and Ice tour begins with a scheduled Icelandair flight from Heathrow to Reykjavik. On arrival you will be met by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel. The capital of Iceland has recently been described as being 'as hip and happening as it is possible to be', and the writer A.A. Gill has dubbed the women 'the most beautiful in the world'.

Accommodation: Standard Room Grand Hotel Reykjavik

Day 2: Aurora cruise

Today you can explore this lively city or take the optional Aurora cruise. The locals have developed a legendary reputation for being able to enjoy themselves and the ultra-modern party town atmosphere contrasts dramatically with the island interior with its geologically sculpted scenery, glacial ice fields, sand deserts, lava fields, volcanoes, waterfalls and geysers. You can also take one of a number of excursions . . . venturing out into the snowy countryside on horseback, in a Super Jeep or a snowmobile or sit back and enjoy the stunning landscape from the comfort of a reclining coach seat.

Day 3: New Year's Eve

This is what you came for! After another fun day in the city the celebrations begin at 7pm with a sparkling wine and strawberries reception followed by a 4-course dinner at the Grand Restaurant, accompanied by Icelandic folk music. You can then take a tour around the city's best bonfires returning to your hotel for dessert and coffee. Then enjoy Champagne and canapes on the hotel's 4th floor balcony which has one of the best views of the midnight firework displays. After seeing in the New Year there is dancing to live music in the Gullteigur ballroom.

Day 4: Free Day

Today may be the time to clear your head with a trip outside the city exploring the magical winter wonderland that is Iceland at Christmas. If you would rather stay at the hotel and relax there is plenty to do and lots of entertainment on offer.
