Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cochin

On arrival at Cochin Airport you will be met by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel to relax after the journey. Kochi, also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward, and maintained a trade network with Arab merchants from the pre-Islamic era. In the evening you can enjoy a complimentary harbour cruise. Overnight at Vivanta by Taj Malabar.

Day 2: Cochin

After breakfast join a tour of Cochin, a vibrant city known as the Gateway to Kerala. The twin cities of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry have preserved an extraordinary wealth of old colonial architecture spanning the Portuguese, Dutch and British eras. Visit Fort Cochin, the Dutch Cemetery and on to Mattancherry to see the historic synagogue in the Jewish Quarter, Dutch Palace and the amazing Chinese Fishing Nets, strung out along the tip of the peninsula. In the evening you can watch a special Kathakali dance performance.

Day 3: Cochin to Kumarakom

Today you drive the 50 miles to Kumarakom, a huddle of tiny islets on the Vembanad Lake. Kumarakom is a pretty, unspoiled village surrounded by mangrove forests, pea green paddy meadows and coconut groves set amid waterways and canals. Enjoy a relaxing day at Vivanta by Taj, which is one of the best resorts and known as the little jewel of Kumarakom. The renewed heritage rooms and charming cottages, luxury villas, top restaurant and Ayurveda spa make it a great place to spend the next two nights.

After the cruise your driver is waiting to take you back to the comfort of your hotel in Kumarakom for another dinner when you can sample lots of the local dishes.

Day 5: Kumarakom - Kovalam

Today after breakfast you leave the resort at Kumarakom and begin the five hour drive to Kovalam and your next hotel. Kovalam means 'grove of coconut trees' and on arrival you will see just why. The beaches of Kovalam with their endless expanse of coconut groves are truly idyllic. The area comprises a string of four sandy bays separated by rocky promontories. About 14 miles from Thiruvananthapuram, Kovalam is one of India’s internationally renowned beach resorts.
