Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

On arrival at the International airport in Lima you will be welcomed by one of our tour representatives and escorted to your hotel, where you will be briefed on all of your travels during your stay in Peru. The more affluent districts of Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro, which are on the coast, offer good nightlife and cafes all within walking distance. Limenos (Lima's residents) are friendly, and the city is filled with excellent restaurants - seafood lovers in particular should be sure to try a ceviche, for which Lima is well known.

Accommodation: Deluxe Swissotel

Day 2: Lima

After breakfast at your hotel you will enjoy a half day guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the "City of Kings". Visit Lima's Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum as well as San Francisco Monastery and its famous underground crypts known as the Catacombs. Your visit continues with a stop at the Larco Museum, for an excellent overview of Peru's ancient past as it holds the best private collection of pre-Columbian art in the country. You will have the chance to tour through this old Hacienda House in the Pueblo Libre district, which was built upon a pre-Incan sacred site (huaca), housing the private collection of a great Peruvian scholar: Don Rafael Larco Hoyle. After the visit you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 3: Lima- Cusco - Sacred Valley

After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel and taken back to Lima airport for your domestic flight over the Andes to Cusco. Later go out and explore on your own and try one of the colourful local restaurants.

Day 4: Through the Sacred Valley of the Inca

Today you travel with a local guide through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the impressive Pisac ruins and the colourful artisan market. The day trip finishes in the picturesque village of Ollantaytambo, site of another large Inca ruin. The town and fortress here are strategically situated overlooking the beautiful Urubamba River Valley. This major ruin site is the best surviving example of Inca urban planning and engineering. It is admired for its huge steep terraces guarding the fortress and for being one of the few places where the Spanish lost a major battle during the conquest. Spend the night in the Sacred Valley, before heading out next day to Machu Picchu.

Accommodation: Deluxe Tambo Del Inka

Day 5: Encounter the majesty of Machu Picchu

Early transfer to Ollanta train Station to board the Belmond Hiram Bingham train that will take you to the town of Aguas Calientes. From here you will board the bus that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu, or Lost City of the Incas, which sits upon the summit bearing the same name, and is one of the most representative and recognized examples of Incan architecture. Brunch on board will be included. In the afternoon you take the Spectacular Hiram Bingham train to Cusco... pre-dinner cocktails will be served in the bar accompanied by live entertainment, and afterwards a 4-course a la carte dinner will be presented in the dining cars. You will then be transferred back to your hotel in Cusco

Later, we will head to the City’s nearby ruins: the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a magnificent example of Incan military power; Qenqo, a ritualistic site with subterranean galleries that form an underground maze; Puca Pucara, the red fortress; and finally Tambomachay, also known as the Incan Baths. After the tour you will be driven back to your hotel
