Just 4km east of Luang Prabang international airport, and a few minutes from the of the town itself, a World Heritage Site with many beautifully preserved temples and pagodas, markets and restaurants, La Residence Phou Vou is an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Built on Phou Vao hill, it has panoramic views of the stunning countryside and lush gardens planted with fragrant bougainvillea, papyrus and frangipani trees.

Room Description

The Residence is designed in the traditional style with the emphasis on local styles and materials, such as teak, silk and fresh cotton. Accommodation is divided into Junior Suites and Phou Vao Garden Suites, but all accommodate just two adults with king sized or twin beds, and are luxuriously furnished with rosewood and natural textiles,. Junior Suites have private terraces with garden, mountain or mountain and pool views, and all have expresso coffee machines, satellite TV, and complimentary bottled water. The Phou Vao Garden Suites are situated on the first floor, overlooking the tropical gardens and feature separate living rooms with a sofa.

Activities

The Mekong Spa offers wonderful treatments blending ancient techniques with modern knowledge, and are based on Laotian herbal remedies which use only pure botanical ingredients from local organic farms and gardens. Choose from a huge range of massage, foot rituals and deep cleansing body treatments as well as facials and packages for two people. If you can tear yourself away from the beautiful swimming pool and gardens, the hotel also offers all kinds of different things to do, from cookery classes, cycling and Laotian farm experiences, to village tours, picnics and sunset cruises. Eating at the Residence is a special experience, since it has one of the best restaurants in Luang Prabang. The restaurant serves a blend of traditional Laotian and French cuisine, either indoors in sophisticated surroundings, or outside in the glow of candlelight and with a view of the stunning Mount Phousi. For drinks, the Doc Champa bar is the pace to relax, in large comfortable armchairs or outdoors, where you can enjoy the sunset with a delicious cocktail.
