General Information:

Nestled in 5 hectares of mature gardens between the Pinhal & Old golf courses in Vilamoura, Hilton Vilamoura Resort & Spa opened in July 2007 and is already regarded as the outstanding choice of accommodation in Vilamoura

Rooms and Accommodation:

All rooms and suites at the Hilton Vilamoura are big and airy with a contemporary but comfortable feel to them. They all have satellite TV, air-conditioning, safe, minibar, internet access, bathrobe, hairdryer and balcony or terrace.

The facilities at the Hilton are what stand it apart from the other Vilamoura hotels. There is a pool and waterfall complex with relaxing sun terraces, Portugal's largest spa, tennis court, gymnasium and children's club. They also run a regular shuttle bus to the Marina just 5 minutes away.

The Hilton Vilamoura has 3 restaurants; Moscada is the main restaurant which serves the famous Hilton breakfast and dinner, O Pangaio serves traditional Portuguese and reinvented Latin American food, and the Aquarela near the waterfalls serves lunch. There are also two bars, including the lounge bar serving pre and post dinner cocktails.

Golf Clubs

Quinta do Lago

Quinta do Lago possesses three great 18 hole courses. The new North Course is now the jewel in the Quinta Do Lago crown. It has recently reopened after a multi-million Euro redesign masterminded by 2014 Ryder Cup Captain Paul Mcginley. It promises to be a fantastic golf experience. The North Course has been redeveloped with the emphasis firmly on precision and strategy. The South course has hosted the Portuguese Open on 9 occasions and is one of the great classic Algarve courses. The South course demands a more accurate tee shot and when it does open up a little, beware of the water hazards. The Laranjal Course has only been open for a few years itself and has already gained the reputation as one of the premier courses in the Algarve, with plenty of water and spectacular bunkering. All courses are cut through an umbrella pine forest that now boasts some of the finest real estate in Portugal.

Laranjal Course

18 holes - 7130 yards - 5285 yards - Par 72

North Course

18 holes - 6700 yards - 5625 yards - Par 72

South Course

18 holes - 7095 yards - 5646 yards - Par 72

Vale do Lobo

Vale do Lobo offers two of the best courses in the Algarve, and certainly two of the most photographed, The Royal Course was inaugarated in 1997 and combined an existing 9holes and a brand new 9 designed by Rocky Roquemore. The course includes the infamous cliff top 200+ yard par 3 over the cliffs, as well as some great water carry holes around the turn. The Ocean Course has been remodelled several time over the last 10 years, and as well as including some scenically stunning holes along the beach, is characterised by clever dog legs, and some impressive private villas lining the fairways. The Portuguese Open has been played here recently when they used a combination of both courses.

Ocean Course

18 holes - 6397 yards - 5520 yards - Par 72

Royal Course

18 holes - 6604 yards - 5502 yards - Par 71

Vila Sol

Vilasol was designed by legendary architect Donald Steel in 1991 as an 18 hole golf course and was so highly regarded that it immediately hosted the Portuguese Open. Now with 27 holes the course has reached full maturity, with umbrella pines and indigenous flora lining the fairways, and unlike many courses in the area there is a degree of undulation and natural water hazard to add variety.

9 holes - 3565 yards - 2755 yards - Par 36

9 holes - 3467 yards - 2946 yards - Par 36

9 holes - 3420 yards - 2841 yards - Par 36

The 5 courses at Vilamoura are now all owned by the Oceanico group and managed by Troon Golf, ensuring the service levels you receive are second to none on the Algarve. The Victoria course was completed in 2004, and immediately hosted a WGC event and is now a regular on The European Tour. Huge lakes were created and tonnes of earth moved to create the course which has a Florida feel to it. Now mature, it is the best course in the area. The Old Course by contrast is the oldest in Vilamoura, and by some distance our most popular. It is a more mature course, cut through pine trees, it requires accurate shotmaking to score well. The Millenium Course combines two different nines, with holes that are cut through a pine forest contrasting wonderfully with those that are more open with water hazards and large bunkers. Laguna is a shorter course designed over rolling terrain with lots of water, whereas Pinhal, as the name suggests, makes use of those ubiquitous umbrella pine trees as the course winds its way around some of Vilamoura's finest real estate.
