Beaver Creek Vail Valley

Beaver Creek
Fabulous skiing at America's most hedonistic resort - where they even heat the pavements

Exclusive, elegant and undeniably hedonistic - all epitomise the attractions of ultra-smooth Beaver Creek. Its slogan cheekily acknowledges its merits: Not Exactly Roughing It.

On top of all this Beaver Creek is blessed with skiing of stunning quality, and a full range of slopes for visitors of every ability. The resort is in Colorado, not far from Vail, and the treeline reaches the top station, so there is a park-like feel to all the runs, which wind scenically down heavily-forested slopes.

Nearly all the lifts are fast chairs and queueing is virtually unheard of. Beginners have their own dedicated area served by a gondola. Intermediates will revel in the huge choice of immaculately-groomed, long, sweeping blue runs. And experts love the steep mogul runs of the Birds of Prey and Grouse Mountain sectors. The slopes are expansive, stretching across five peaks from Spruce Saddle to Arrowhead. One area is Bachelor Gulch, above its own little village where the fabulous Ritz Carlton Hotel is located.
