Hauser Swiss Quality Hotel

Hauser Swiss Quality Hotel 3 Star

from £167 per room night

The family run Hotel Hauser, which boasts its own confectioner’s and chocolate shop, is situated in the centre of St Moritz, is close to all the bars, restaurants and shops of this glamorous ski resort, but also only a five-minute walk to the main cable car, giving you access to the 350km of pistes and making it the perfect destination for a great winter holiday.

The Hotel Hauser has 51 rooms, ranging from the Economy or Comfort single rooms, to Quality family rooms. All the rooms are simply furnished in a neautral palette with crisp white bed linen and local materials, in particular fragrant Swiss pine and larch wood, . Some of the Comfrot Double Rooms have a balcony where you can relax in the sun, while others can be connected to provide spacious accommodation for families. Bright modern bathrooms have Bergeller granite tops, and most have bath tubs – you just need to specify when you book. All the rooms have satellite TV, telephone and a sage, as well as free Wi-Fi.

St Moritz is at the heart of the upper Engadin valley, and offers a vast ski area with 350km of pistes and fabulous views of the frozen lakes in the valley bottom. It’s snow-sure reputation provides fantastic off-piste skiing too, and if by chance that’s not your thing, there’s also bob sleighing, cross country skiing, winter hiking, and great bars and restaurants. The Hauser, which has its own secure ski storage, is situated a five –minute walk to the cable car, and its geared towards making sure you enjoy all that St Moritz has to offer.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant , with panoramic views, which serves a delicious continental style breakfast buffet, and a varied lunch menu with daily specials from pasta to homemade burgers. The extensive dinner menu includes local and international dishes, and a chance to try piöda – or hot stone cooking at your own table. The hotel also has, rather dangerously it’s own confecitoner’s and chocolate shop, where you can sample their own traditional Engadin chocolate and nut cake, fresh fruit tarts and a wicked range of handmade chocolates… The hotel’s Roo Bar is a legendary après-ski destination, and serves a special Glühwein to its own recipe, as well as homemade hot chocolate with rum or elderberry punch with vodka…you have been warned.
