Verbier Canton of Valais

The resort the stars love, at the centre of the biggest Swiss ski area

Verbier is one of the biggest names in world skiing, renowned for both its huge range of skiing and it's ultra-fashionable social scene.

The Swiss resort sits majestically on a sunny shelf high above the Val de Bagnes, in the Valais canton. Its extensive and varied slopes link with the runs of Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, which together comprise the Four Valleys - Switzerland's largest ski area with 100 lifts accessing nearly 400 kilometres of runs.

Verbier is chalet central - buildings are built in heavily timber-clad style, whether they are actually a chalet or a hotel. And the village is surrounded by the most stunning Alpine scenery. From the top of Mont Fort, the highest point, the vista stretches to Mont Blanc in the West and the Matterhorn to the East.
