On this eight day Renaissance and Retreats cruise on board the luxurious Ocenia line's ship Riviera you will create and nurture memories of a lifetime in destinations where rich traditions and vibrant cultures have been thriving for centuries. Beginning in Monaco, you sail around the Mediterranean stopping at Antibes in France, Portofino and Livorno in Italy, from where you can visit Florence and Pisa, then on to the islands of Corsica and Majorca. Next port of call is Valencia and the cruise ends in Barcelona.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Monte Carlo

Your cruise adventure begins when you board the Riviera in Monaco. The ship sails the next day so plenty of time to explore with a drive along the famous Grand Corniche with its stunning views of Monaco and the Old City. Then stroll through this marvelous quarter and its pink Grimaldi Palace. And don't forget the Casino. Today you can also take a trip to the wonderful old villages along the Côte d'Azur from Nice to medieval Eze or Cannes, Grasse and lovely St. Paul de Vence - each one a jewel to be savoured.

Day 2: Antibes

Today the Riviera sets sail in the morning to the nearby French port of Antibes. Here beaches and beauty abound in this stunning coastal city. Head to the Picasso Museum to see where the great modern artist lived and painted and then stretch out on the beaches of Juan-les-Pins. The covered market, Marché Provencal, presents a selection of local cheeses, while an invigorating walk around Cap d’Antibes is a romantic’s dream.

Day 3: Portofino

You leave France behind today when you arrive at the Italian port city of Portofino. Now is a good time to explore your luxurious cruise ship and discover all the on board delights available throughout the cruise. If you go ashore here you can stroll through the picturesque town and nearby Santa Margherita or take a tour and marvel at the stunning scenery as you travel through the beautiful coastal resorts of Ravello, Sestri Levante or San Fruttuoso by local boat and on foot.

Day 4: Livorno

Spend a glorious day amid the fabled architecture of the Renaissance city of Florence. See the Duomo with Brunelleschi's dome, the famous baptistry, Michelangelo's magnificent David, the Ponte Vecchio bridge over the Arno and the astonishing Uffizi Gallery. Then visit Pisa's superb Campo dei Miracoli and its beautiful cathedral and famed leaning tower. Alternatively you can enjoy a trip through the Tuscan countryside to Siena and San Gimignano, renowned for its medieval towers.

Day 5: Corsica

Today you arrive at Ajaccio on the island of Corsica with lots of tours available. Stroll through the narrow streets of Napoleon's birthplace, visit the bustling, colourful market, browse in the shops and see the cathedral where he was baptised. Relax in shady Place Foch beside a bubbling fountain and Napoleon's statue or discover the stunning, rugged Corsican countryside and its famous aromatic maquis shrubs and oak trees. Here you can admire the superb views and the impressive Prunelli Gorges.

Day 6: Palma

Another day, another island, when the Riviera arrives at Palma, the capital city of Majorca. Explore this beautiful island beginning with the magnificent Seo Cathedral and Bellver Castle. See the windmills and impressive manor house in the verdant countryside. Discover the amazing natural wonders in the Drach Caves. And for romance, visit the former Carthusian monastery in Valldemosa, where George Sand and Chopin spent a winter.

Day 7: Valencia

Back on the Spanish mainland today when you sail into Valencia. The City of Arts and Sciences is an impressive collection of attractions, including an opera house and performing arts center, IMAX cinema, planetarium, science museum and oceanographic park. Visit the Gothic city of Requena, featuring perfectly preserved 100-year-old wine cellars. In Lladró's City of Porcelain museum, explore the production facilities, or nearby visit the National Ceramics Museum, located in the former palace of nobility.

Day 8: Barcelona

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end today when the Riviera arrives at Barcelona. Say farewell to new found friends then take time to explore before catching your flight back home. Visit the magnificent Gothic cathedral and the amazing La Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece. Enjoy the lovely Montjuic Gardens, Gaudí's other fabulous structures, the charming squares of the old Gothic Quarter and the Ramblas, Barcelona's famed downtown promenade.
